As the first and the only expressway directly connecting Guangzhou，Shenzhen and Hong Kong at the Huanggang border，GS Superhighway is one of the main expressway arteries in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Many large towns and important facilities including Shenzhen Baoan Airport and various seaports are connected to this expressway's 23 strategically placed interchanges. It is also well connected to other major expressways in the east coast of Pearl River.
